Arsenal manager Wenger: Referees are getting worse every season

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has accused the Premier League referees of not working hard enough after his side went down 3-1 to Manchester City on Sunday.

With the game at 2-1, Gabriel Jesus restored City's two-goal lead after being served the ball on a plate by David Silva. Replays later revealed that Silva was offside.

And Wenger, whose side dropped to sixth on the Premier League after the loss, was highly critical of the officiating, claiming that it was continuing to distress every season.

"I feel they don't work enough, because the level drops every season at the moment," said Wenger.

"Overall it's unacceptable what happens.

"The physical level is very good, the decisions [are not]. At 2-1 we are in the game, and he gives a clear offside goal, and of course that kills the game for us."
