Arsenal Plotting January Move For Teenage Sensation Alexander Isak As Transfer Race Hots Up

Arsenal have ramped up their interest inyoung Swedish starlet Alexander Isak and are expected to make a bid for the player when the January transfer window opens, according to reports in theStar.


The 17-year-old has impressed since emerging from the youth ranks at AIK Solna and has an impressive 11 goals so far this season from 25 matches.

Isak is understood to be wanted by a host of European clubs, with reports from Swedish media outletExpressen,suggesting that both Manchester United and Chelsea were also interested in signing the striker.


But Arsenalhave reportedly made Isak one of their priority targets for the upcoming transfer window and see the youngster as a future star. It is hoped that the Swedish U21 international can join the North London club'sacademy set up, before joining the first team ina few years time.


Arsene Wenger is well known for his faith in youth players and has helped bring the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Alex Iwobi into first team football from the academy.

Isak has been has been likened to compatriot, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, by some of his teammates at AIK Solna, so great things will be expected of the forward wherever he goes.


Chinedu Obasi is one such admirer from within the Solna dressing room and he is confident that his young teammate will become a top player one day.


The striker said of Isak:He has great potential and I absolutely believe he will go far.


"If he concentrates and continues as he is, I think he can become Sweden's next Ibrahimovic.He has the potential, everyone can see it."
