Genoa's Diego Laxalt could be set for a move to London to compete in the Premier League, but it seems that there are now two clubs from England's capital who are interested in signing him.

Chelsea had alreadysubmitted enquiries for Laxalt, who can play as a left back or left winger. Antonio Conte had made it clear that the 23-year-old could feature in his future plans.

However, it appears that competition has arrived for his signature in the form of Arsenal, as theMetroreport. Arsene Wenger has every intention of snatching Laxalt away from the Blues' fingertips. Kieran Gibbs's contract runs out in 2018, and Laxalt is one potential replacement for the out-of-favour left-back.

Laxalt has spent four years in Serie A, playing for Bologna, Empoli and now Genoa. He moved from his native country of Uruguay in 2013, and has been putting together some strong performances for Genoa despite their struggles in the bottom half of the table.

Genoa want to sign Laxalt on for a new contract, but it is unlikely that they will be able to compete with the spending power of Chelsea and Arsenal.

The two English clubs are in a title race in one of the most competitive leagues in the world, with Chelsea going nine points clear of them after beating Crystal Palace on Saturday.
