Arsenal Receive Timely Injury Boost Ahead of Saturday's Crucial Game Against Liverpool

Arsene Wenger has received some overdue positive news as Aaron Ramsey looks set to make a comeback from injury on Saturday against Liverpool, according toThe Sun.

The Welsh midfielder has been struggling with a calf problem since he was forced off in the 2-1 loss to Watford but has returned to full training and should make the squad.

Despite an underwhelming campaign from the midfielder so far, completing only 17 appearances in all competitions, Wenger will be buoyed by Ramsey's return as it presents him with a welcome selection dilemma.

Francis Coquelin and Granit Xhaka were the only logical central midfield options available with Mohamed Elneny set to miss the next few games with a knee injury.

Key midfield component Santi Cazorla has been ruled out for the season, leaving Wenger's options looking worryinglybare.

"I'm back training now, so I hope to be available for selection very soon," Ramsey said.

Wales manager Chris Coleman also commented that his player was ready for action once again.

"Rambo says he feels good," Coleman said.

"He need to gets some minutes for Arsenal's first team and fingers crossed he does that."

After Coquelin's woeful displays in recent fixtures, Ramsey could certainly be an option for Wenger against Liverpool from the start.

Both he and Xhaka seemed to operate effectively in a double-pivot together in the short amount of minutes they had alongside one another.

Their contrasting styles were perfect for Arsenal's midfield, similar to when Arteta and Ramsey paired up in 2013/14 - coincidentally the Welshman's best season in north London.

Ramsey thrives with a dictator of tempo and a pass master next to him and Xhaka is exactly that. A potential solution to Wenger's ongoing woes in the midfield area.
