English Premier League giants Arsenal have proposed that 55 staff go on redundancy including chief scout Francis Cagiago.

Francis was pivotal to the signings of Hector Bellerin, Cesc Fabregas and Gabriel Martinelli, players who have earned the adoration of fans in the past and present.

It was also widely reported that he was heavily involved in Thomas Partey's potential transfer to the club.

Partey has been heavily linked with a move to the Gunners in the last few months and Arsenal reportedly offered cash plus player which Atletico Madrid rejected. Partey has a release clause of 50 million euros.

It is believed that Arsenal will continue pushing for the player but with Cagiago out of his role, it will make the task more difficult.
