Arsenal Set to Sanction Loan Deal for Injury-Prone Defender Ahead of Transfer Window

Arsenalare reportedly willing to let Mathieu Debuchy leave the Emirates on-loan, as the player looks to put a torrid period of his career behind him - as reported by the Express.

The right-back has spent most of his Gunners career sidelined with injury, but has now recovered from his latest setback and is prepared to leave the club temporarily in order to get first-team football under his belt.

The Frenchman is unlikely to get a look in at Arsenal at the moment, with Hector Bellerin firmly established as the first choice right-back.

The unfortunate Debuchy managed just 15 minutes of game time against Bournemouth, before being forced off with a hamstring problem. It was a massive blow for the player who had just come back from a previous hamstring injury he sustained in April 2015.

However, the player is now fit again and has interest from French club Marseille ahead of the January transfer window, according to Le Parisien.

The report claims manager Rudi Garcia is a big fan of the 31-year-old, whom he managed whilst they were at Lille together in the 2010/11 season - Debuchy's last homeland club before moving to the Premier League with Newcastle United.

Marseille will have to work quickly though, with clubs in England and Turkey likelylaunch their own bidsfor his signature.

Debuchy has only made 23 appearances for the Gunners since moving to London in 2014 for around £12m. He is contracted to Arsenal until 2019.
