Arsenal Star Mesut Ozil Urges Club to Sign German Wonder-Kid Julian Draxler to Convince Him to Stay

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has told the club what they need to do in order to help convince him to remain in north London following contract disputes - sign Julian Draxler.

The Germany international has just 18 months left on his current contract at the Emirates, alongside teammate Alexis Sanchez, with the Gunners hesitant to award them new multi-million contracts, as well as an increased wage bracket.

However, according to French news outlet RMC Sport, the 28-year-old has revealed that should the club successfully bring his compatriot Draxler to the club, having been a long-term target of manager Arsene Wenger, they will convince him to sign a new deal with Arsenal.

The 23-year-old German made the switch in the Bundesliga from FC Schalke to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015, but after just a year-and-a-half at the Volkswagen Arena, the player is reportedly ready to leave, with the Premier League a preferred destination for the attacking youngster.

Despite the connections with national teammates, Arsenal are not the only club who would love to bring Draxler in during the January transfer window, with reports from the Daily Mail suggesting that French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Italian champions Juventus are also keen to splash the cash, with the player valued at around £30m.

Wolfsburg director of sport Klaus Allofs has suggested however that the club's intentions to keep hold of Draxler are strong, but has admitted that they will listen to offers should they be of an acceptable nature, despite not putting him up for sale.
