Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck visits family in Ghana

Arsenal and English footballer Daniel Nii-Tackie Mensah Welbeck has paid a visit to his family in Ghana for the first time in 5 years.

Welbeck who was born in England to Ghanaian parents is currently lodging in his family house in Nkawie in the Ashanti region.

The former Manchester United forward has always confessed his love for the Nation but decided to represent the English National team rather than the Black Stars of Ghana.

On 18 November 2008, it was reported that the Ghana Football Association was keeping tabs on Welbeck, with a view to him representing the Ghana national team in the future.

On 29 March 2011, Welbeck was called up to the England squad, for their friendly fixture against Ghana which ended 1-1.
