Giroud has been hammered by some sections of the French press for his place in coach Didier Deschamps' team.
But after his treble, the striker said: "The hat-trick? I'm proud. It's always a pleasure to score.
"I was very well served and I finished the job of the team. All alone, I could not have done it. We look for each other, we combine and we see this on the ground.

"We're happy to have fun together.
"You know, pseudo-debates do not hold my attention, I'm not interested. Today I am a happy man. I try to do my job and take pleasure with this team, which I assure you, is great."
