Want-away Wolfsburg winger, Julian Draxler, hasreportedlytold one of his former Germany U21 teammates which club he his hoping to join in next month's transfer window.

The 23-year-old is expected to leave his current club in the new year after weeks of speculation linking with him to a host of Europe's top sides, including Premier League outfit Arsenal.

Whilst Wolfsburg have fought valiantly to hold onto their man, the club appear resigned to selling him in the new yearafter a difficult few months both on and off-the-field.

The club's director of sport, Klaus Allofs, was quoted by the Daily Mail last week saying:Everything points to the fact that he can't help us anymore. If we receive an offer for him, we will listen to it.

Although Draxler has largely failed to fulfilhis promise since moving tothe Volkswagen Arena back in 2015, he is still seen as a bright prospect for the futureand has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, ever since his days at Schalke.

However, according toGet French Footballit would appear that the Gunners may miss out on signing the German international after he reportedly told PSG goalkeeper,Kevin Trapp, that he has hopes of joining the French champions in January.

Both Trapp and Draxler are understood to be good friends having played together for Germany's U21 side in the past.

The latest development in this seemingly never ending story contradicts reports last week, that suggested that Arsenal's Mesut Ozil has been trying to convinceDraxler to come to the Emirates and link up with a number of fellow German internationals.

With the transfer window opening in less than two weeks, there is likely to be yet more twists in this transfer saga, but these latest rumours would suggest that despite scouting him for years, Arsenal may well miss out on signing Julian Draxler after all.
