Arteta asks for cash injection from Arsenal chiefs to fund Partey move

According to reports from The Sun, Arteta is making a case to the Arsenal chiefs for extra cash to fund the moves of Thomas Partey and Lyon midfielder, Aouar ahead of the new season.

It has been reported that Arsenal are close to selling Maitland Niles to Wolves for 20 million pounds but it is not enough to secure a move for Partey and Aouar.

In Partey's case, Atletico Madrid are demanding his release clause which stands at 50 million euros. They are unwilling to listen to swaps or accept a lower offer for the 27-year-old. It has also been reported that Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the player.

In the case of Aouar, Arsenal offered cash plus Guendouzi which the French club rejected. They are currently in talks to find a compromise for the situation.

Partey made over 40 appearances for Atletico Madrid last season.
