Veteran Ghanaian forward Asamoah Gyan has shared that he will be open to representing Ghana at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament provided he will be fit and available.

The legendary striker has been at eight AFCON tournaments already where he has managed to score in all but the last edition which was hosted in Egypt earlier this year.

At the end of that tournament, he has subsequently move to India where he is now playing his club football with NorthEast United.

He has managed to score 3 goals after making 6 appearances and has established himself as one of the dangerous forwards in the Indian Super League (ISL).

In a recent interview with Hindustantimes where he was asked if he will want to play at the 2021 AFCON, Gyan shared that he is available for his national team and will be with the Black Stars during the tournament when the time comes and he is available.

“When the time comes and I am available, why not? I am available for Ghana right now”, the 34-year-old said.

The experienced striker is Ghana’s all-time leading top scorer and also the only African with the most goals at the FIFA World Cup tournament.
