Asamoah Gyans reveals his NorthEast United FC teammates are frightened by my achievement

Former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan says his teammates at North East United are frightened by his achievement, having achieved a lot during his playing career before joining the India side

The 34-year old has accomplished a lot in football including being Africa's all time leading scorer at the FIFA World Cup.

Gyan has excelled in every country he played in including the English Premier League with Sunderland.

He is arguably the biggest star in the Indian Super League at the moment and has scored three goals in six games so far this season.

"The players respect me a lot and that is a good thing but sometimes it puts a fear into them and I don’t want that. I want them to come close to me so that we can do everything together," he told the Hindustan Times.

The former Kayserispor forward suffered an injury in his side's 3-0 defeat to ATK at the weekend in the Indian Super League.

He joined NorthEast United FC in the summer after a disappointing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations with Black Stars.
