Asante Kotoko coach Mariano Bareto to quit job at the end of the season

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Mariano Bareto will relinquish his role at the end of the season, according to Kumasi based Nhyira FM.

The former Black Stars coach joined the Ghanaian giants half way of the season, replacing Maxwell Konadu who was sacked in December 2020 over an unimpressive performance after five matches into the season.

With two games to end the season, Bareto is believed to have decided not to continue his trade with the Kumasi based club at the end of the campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors will play Bechem United and Elmina Sharks in their last two games.

Barreto has been under serious pressure after the lost 1-0 to bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak last weekend handing the latter the advantage to clinch the premiership title.

Hearts lead the league table with 60 points while Kotoko are second placed with 57 points after 32 rounds.
