Asante Kotoko coach Mariano Barreto returns to Ghana ahead of Aduana Stars clash

Asante Kotoko head coach, Mariano Barreto has touched down in Ghana following his trip to Portugal.

The short trip to his native country was necessary to aid the former Black Stars coach to renew his UEFA Pro coaching license as the end of the football season in Portugal provides a short window for coaching license renewals.

In his absence Assistant Coach Pedro Manuel to charge of the team.

On Thursday, the Porcupine Warriors announced on their twitter handle that Barreto had returned from his short trip to Portugal ahead of their match day 27 game against Aduana Stars in Dormaa.

Barreto was brought on board to take over the Asante Kotoko Head Coach role as a permanent replacement for Maxwell Konadu who was axed in December last year.

He has picked up five wins,  three draws and one loss in nine matches in the Ghana Premier League so far.

Kotoko are currently joint top on the league log with arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
