Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has admitted relief following his sides triumph over Samartex in the Ghana Premier League.

Midfielder Enoch Morrison emerged as the hero for Kotoko, converting from the penalty spot in the second half to clinch the lone goal of the game in matchday 27 of the Ghanaian top-flight.

Before this game, the Porcupine Warriors had gone seven games without a win, picking just a point across the period.

However, the meeting with club owner Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II earlier in the week served as a source of motivation, inspiring the team to produce an improved performance.

After the game, the former WAFA coach disclosed his sides triumph over Samartex serves as a big relief after going several games without a win.

“Very good performance from both sides. Both teams came with the intention to play very expansively, create chances and score. They got us on some few occasions on the counter and I think we also got them and then, out of our pressure we won that penalty”

Asked if he is a relieved after triumphing over Samartex, he said, “Ones you win, you become okay. The game is all about winning especially when you coaching a team like Kotoko, it doesn’t matter how beautifully you will play, at the end of the day, even if you don’t play well and you get them the three points, that’s okay” he told StarTimes after the game.

Asante Kotoko are tenth on the Ghana Premier League table with 36 points. They will travel to Tarkwa to face Medeama in matchday 28 of the Ghanaian top-flight.
