Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum explains Henry Ansu’s freekick role at club

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has explained why he has settled on defender Henry Ansu to take up freekick roles during matches.

Ansu, who joined the Porcupine Warriors from Berekum Chelsea in the last transfer window has been taking freekicks in competitive games for the Ghanaian giants this season.

Explaining the decision, Ogum, who guided Kotoko to snatch the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season said, “He is good at training grounds and he does it so well. Sometimes, it’s the tempo and temperament of the game and is all about trying to encourage him to keep doing the right things that he does at training so he can transfer the training behaviors to match behaviors”

The Porcupine Warriors shared the spoils with Bechem united in the matchday 7 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Peter Acquah scored his debut goal for the Porcupine Warriors before evergreen Augustine Okrah pulled parity for the visitors as the game ended 1-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors were well on top in the first half and had chances to build on their one-goal lead before Okrah scored to draw Bechem United level in the second half.
