Injuries affected Dreams FC seriously – Coach Karim Zito

Dreams FC head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, says injuries have hugely affected his team this season, as they bow out of the MTN FA Cup at the semifinal stage.

Elijah Addai scored an extra time winner for Bofoakwa Tano as they beat the defending champions 2-1 in Sogakope on Sunday.

Dreams captain Abdul Jalilu cancelled out Dacosta Abaogye’s opener to force the game into extra time.

It means Dreams FC will not be returning to the CAF Confederation Cup after their historic semifinal run this season.

“I have achieved [a lot this season] because sometimes when you defend your title you must be out before [this stage],” Zito said after the game.

“I combine three [competitions], playing at the same time and with these same players. Now injuries have affected me seriously but that is no excuse. That is why I said we did our best.”

Dreams FC must now turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League, where they are currently in the relegation zone - with a handful of games in hand.
