Head coach of Asante Kotoko Prosper Narteh Ogum has opposed public perception that his players are indiscipline following Henry Ansu’s red card in their clash against Nsoatreman FC.
Kotoko players have come under criticisms on disciplinary issues in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
The players challenged referee decision to award Nsoatreman FC’s only goal of the match on Thursday, which led to the sending off of defender Henry Ansu.
Konadu, a former Kotoko coach led Nsoatreman FC to defeat the Porcupine Warriors at the Nana Koramansah Park to return to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table.
Stephen Diyou’s strike was enough for the home team to secure maximum points in the week 8 of the Ghana Premier League on Thursday.
“In football, when an incident happen, players have the right to complain and remember players also play within the laws of the game. The laws are for the players, referees and for everybody (Coaches, Fans and others).
So if you want to enjoy the game you have to understand the laws of the game. If something happens in the course of a game and a player who has been educated on the laws of the game complain about it and he doesn’t attack you but he only comes to complain and you see it that he doesn’t have the right to complain and you pour your anger on him and give him a red card, it’s up to you. There is no indiscipline in my team, they are very disciplined players” he said.
The defeat leaves Kotoko six points behind the league leaders, having collected only 10 points from eight games
Kotoko will host Dreams FC in the matchday 9 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
