Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has provided an injury update in camp ahead of their game against Karela United in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors have been without experienced duo of Justice Blay and Richmond Lamptey due to injury setbacks. On the other hand, Julius Ofori, Fuseini Issahak and Augustine Agyapong have battling injuries.

Giving an update ahead of Karela United showdown, Prosper Narteh said, “We all know Richmond Lamptey and Justice Blay are not training. For Blay, he is on a treatment plan and he’s being very positive. We had series of meetings with him for him to go by the treatment plan and he is going by it”

“For Lamptey, he had a hamstring injury during the preseason and you know, it takes time for such injuries to go, you need a lot of rest, medication and a lot of good diet and we are doing that. Fortunately, he joined full scale training this week and even joined the main team for training this morning”

“Ofori also had a groin issue and he’s being attended to. This morning too, Augustine Agyapong complained of a pain on the side of the right foot so we asked him to go for an x-ray. Fuseini Issahak also started training this morning and somewhere along the line we had to let him stop”

The record Ghana Premier League holders kick started the season with a 0-0 stalemate on home turf against Heart of Lions before succumbing to a 2-1 defeat to Bibiani Goldstars in the week fixture. Kotoko are 17th on the table with just a point.
