The owner of Karela United Haruna Iddrisu has revealed that Asante Kotoko have protested their decision to host them at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex in Nalerigu.

The Porcupine Warriors believe the newly constructed facility is not up to standard to host such a game.

Karela United had to move their games to the venue in the North East Region because of the bad state the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium is in and can’t host games.

Speaking in parliament, the Tamale South MP spoke extensively about the current state of the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Appalled by the state of the pitch at Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Haruna Iddrisu says he is now forced to pay to get the pitch watered.

“I’m struggling now to even get stadium for training and even for my matches. This weekend I’m playing the Porcupine Warriors (Kotoko). I have sent them to Nalerigu and they have already protested that the standard of the pitch is not good.

“Currently, Mr. Speaker I’m the one footing the bill to water the pitch. I’m the one doing it because of the state of the pitch. I need a Stadium for my matches and I don’t have it,” Haruna Iddrisu bemoaned.
