Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko have extended a message of condolence to head coach Seydou Zerbo after losing his son.

In a statement from the Kumasi-based club on Tuesday, March 7, it said the 10-year-old son of the Burkinabe tactician has lost his life.

The sad demise of the kid happened due to complications after undergoing heart surgery.

“Our head Coach Seydou Zerbo has lost his son Zerbo Faical Mamadou earlier today due to complications after a heart surgery,” the statement from Asante Kotoko said.

It added, “The entire Porcupine family send our condolence and prayers to our coach and his family in this difficult period.

“The club will communicate to our fans the next line of action.”

Coach Seydou Zerbo was appointed head coach of Asante Kotoko last year before the start of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

It is unclear if he will ask for time away from the job for a while to return to Burkina Faso.
