Asante Kotoko not out of Ghana Premier League race - Communications Director, David Obeng Nyarko

Asante Kotoko Communications Manager, David Obeng Nyarko has insisted that they will keep fighting to defend their Premier League title.

The Porcupine Warriors have failed to maintain their performance in the ongoing 2022/23 season.

After 26 games played, Kotoko sit 5th on the league log with 39 points.

Speaking ahead of their matchday 27 games against league leaders, Aduana Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium, Obeng Nyarko admitted that they must improve their performance but also added that they will keep fighting to retain their title.

"At this point of the season, every fan would hope Asante Kotoko will either sit on top of the league log or will sit second especially playing Aduana Stars on Sunday," he told Kumasi-based Sompa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com,

"Adauan Stars has extended their lead at teh top but in terms of our performance, I believe that there is more room for improvement but if you look at the Ghana Premier League, it is not over yet so if our coach (Abdul Gazale) says we can still defend the Premier League, it is still possible if you look at the point gab.

"If we are able to win consecutive games, our position on the league log will improve. We are still fighting to retain the Ghana Premier League but we know it will not be easy," he added.

The game has been scheduled to kick off at 18:00GMT.
