Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have reached an agreement to sign former Legon Cities winger Stephen Appiah Asare ahead of the new season.

The Porcupine Warriors has so far parted company with over 20 players following a disappointing 2023/24 season, where Kotoko finished sixth at the end of the Ghana Premier League campaign.

Captain Danlad Ibrahim, Richmond Lamptey, Enoch Morrison and Steven Mukwala are among the top players to have departed the club.

However, the record league holders has stormed the market searching for quality players to compete in the 2024/25 campaign.

Kotoko have made a significant move in the ongoing transfer window, reaching agreement in principle to snap up Stephen Appiah Asare.

The former Tema Youth skipper joined Legon Cities during the second round of the Ghana Premier League season and made 14 matches appearances, scoring two goals and providing an assist.

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is said to be a huge admirer of the winger and is poised to secure his services before the season starts.

Having reached agreement with Kotoko, the highly-rated winger will undergo his mandatory medical before putting pen paper.

The winger’s pace, skill, and experience will be valuable assets for the Porcupine Warriors as they aim to compete for major honors in Ghanaian football.
