Asante Kotoko skipper captain Felix Annan has denied reports linking him with a move to South African side Maritzburg United as Richard Ofori replacement.

According to reports in the local media, The Team of Choice have set sights on signing the 25-year-old to replace Ofori, who is reportedly leaving Maritzburg United to join fellow Premiership side Orlando Pirates.

Annan has disclosed that such reports are untrue and has had no discussions with the club.

"I saw the news this morning on my phone but me personally, I haven't had discussions with the club," he told KickOff.com in South Africa.

"For now I have a contract with Asante Kotoko. I have had contact with many people concerning clubs in South Africa but I have not had any official confirmation or concrete news yet."

Annan lost his no.1 position at Kotoko to Kwame Baah after match week 11 of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League which has been suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

He has been one of the most consistent performers in the topflight for the past three seasons.

He was a member of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
