Ghana Premier League side Obuasi Ashanti Gold has confirmed that midfielder Appiah McCarthy will spend two weeks on the sidelines before he can return to training.
The hardworking and ball-playing midfielder has been missing from action as a result of an injury he picked up during his assignment with the Black Stars B team at the 2019 WAFU tournament hosted in Senegal.
He was subsequently handed a six weeks precautionary treatment plan at the beginning of December to ensure he gradually recovers from a mild knee injury he has been carrying from the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
Appiah commenced Gym work last work and is now expected to begin full-scale training on January 15, 2020.
His return to the Ashgold side will give them a huge boost in their quest to challenge for the Ghana Premier League title this season.
