Ashanti Gold SC supporters are set to sue Anglogold Ashanti for selling the club to Dr. Kwaku Frimpong popularly known as “Champion” for $1m for a period of 54 years.
According to reports in the local media, the supporters leadership claim to have intercepted the contract signed between Anglogold Ashanti and Dr. Kwaku Frimpong.
They believe it is an affront to the club to be sold for that amount, hence, they are heading to court to seek for better clarification and understanding of the agreed contract signed between both parties.
Dr. Kwaku Frimpong recently announced he has parted ways with the club as the President due to miscommunications with the supporters which left the club stranded before their last game against Karela United in Tarkwa in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League.
Ashanti Gold SC are currently 6th on the league table with with 25 points, just three points adrift leaders Aduana Stars after 15 matches played thus far before the suspension of the league due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
