Formerly of lower division side Accra Lions, the forward has been identified with the needed quality that will go a long way to help the Miners in their quest for League triumph at the end of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
He has been training with the top-flight club since last week and has made a good impression on manager Ricardo da Rocha.
It is now understood that negotiations are far advanced for his services to be secured by the close of this week.
If Benedict Wobenu signs for Ashanti Gold, he will join danger forward Shafiu Mumuni at the club to present a dangerous forward line for the side in the upcoming season which has been scheduled to start on the weekend of December 27-29, 2019.
