Ashanti Gold SC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Emmanuel Frimpong is hopeful of succeeding in the 2020/21 CAF Confederation Cup.

The Miners are currently making plans for the competition after they were selected by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the truncation of the 2019/20 football season.

Ashgold will be looking to progress to the group stages of Caf second-tier competition after they were knocked out by Moroccan giants RS Berkane last season.

"We are going to Africa and come back with victory," Emmanuel Frimpong told Sikka Sports.

The former Ghana Premier League champions are waiting for government's approval to begin training after restrictions were eased on youth national teams.

The newly-appointed CEO has urged fans to be patient ahead of the resumption of football activities.

"The supporters will understand what we are doing when football fully resumes," he said.
