Ashanti Gold SC defender Kwadwo Amoako says he is ready to contribute to the success of the Black Stars ahead of their upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan later this month.

Amoako was handed his debut call-up by coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor for the doubleheader following their outstanding performances in the Premier League for the Miners.

He joined the former Ghana Premier League champions from Eleven Wonders on a four-year deal last year.

"I had returned from my usual running every morning and met coach CK Akonnor mentioning my name, I am very happy with this feat and ready to contribute my quota," the right-back told Oyerepa FM.

The 20-year-old becomes the 4th Ashgold player to be called-up into the senior national team in recent years after Fatau Dauda, Mohammed Kadri and Shafiu Mumuni.

He joins the home-based quartet of Richard Attah (Hearts of Oak), Habib Mohammed (Asante Kotoko) and Yahaya Mohammed (Aduana Stars).
