Ashgold eyes semifinals berth in next season's Caf Confederations Cup

Ghana Premier League outfit, Ashgold are targeting playing in the semifinals of the Caf Confederations Cup next season.

The Miners have been given the nod by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to represent the country in the Caf interclub competition following the cancellation of the 2019/20 football season due to coronavirus.

And according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club, Emmanuel Frimpong, the club is putting in place mechanism in place as they target playing the semifinals of the competition.

“Our target is the semi-finals stage of the competition, and the aim is to put Ashantigold on the African Football map as one of the biggest football clubs," he told Kumasi based Ashh FM.

Mr Frimpong hinted on building a strong squad base to supplement the first time with the introduction of the youth side into the team.

“We are searching for young talented players to help the experience once to reach our target," he said.

An elated Frimpong also disclosed a mega sports kit deal with iGimel sports wear in the UK.
