Ghanaian duo Majeed Ashimeru and Francis Amuzu were included in Anderlecht squad for the 2021/22 season opener against Union Saint-Gilloise on Sunday but forward striker Mohammed Dauda missed out.

The 23-year-old failed to make the matchday squad for the opening match of the season at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium.

Anderlecht lost 3-1 to Union Saint-Gilloise at home.

Saint-Gilloise took the lead in the 20th-minute courtesy Loïc Lapoussin's strike but Anderlecht equalised on the stroke of half-time through Yari Verschaeren.

After the recess, the visitors took the lead again through Deniz Undav in the 62nd minute before Lzare Armani secured all three points for Union Saint-Gilloise.

Dauda has been an Anderlecht player since 2017 when he joined them from Kotoko. Currently, he has two years remaining on his contract.

Last season, he played 17 times and scored one goal.
