Aston Villa Owner Tony Xia Won't Stop Tweeting About the Club and This Is the Reason Why

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has declared that he will not stop talking about the club on Twitter, even if the public nature of his comments puts more pressure on the players. Pressure, he says, is an important part of success.

Villa have struggled with life in the Championship this season, currently sitting in 17th place with just one win to show for their first seven games in the second tier.

The team suffered yet more disappointment on Wednesday night when an 88th minute equaliser from Brentford at Villa Park saw the win-less run extend to five games.

Xia, who has been very active on social media since the summer, took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to express his disappointment.

Gutted throughout the whole day&night. 85-86-87-88th, improved or xxxx? I'd like listen to ur constructive suggestion!

"Gutted throughout the whole day and night," he said. "85-86-87-88th, improved or xxxx?"

The Chinese businessman subsequently defended himself against questions of his public interaction with fans over tactics and personnel putting too much pressure on the team.

"Regarding the question over whether my tweets put pressure on the team," he began. "To face any pressure and go through it is a requirement to succeed. So I'll keep tweeting to fans."

Re question whether my twts give pressure 2the team. 2face any pressure&go through is a requirement 2succeed. So I'll keep twitting 2fans.

He further said of the under-performing team, who conceded an 87th minute equaliser against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, "We are clear about the problem which isn't mentality anymore and they are confident and feeling positive enough."

Xia also revealed on Twitter that the Forest result had served to ruin his day, even after agreeing a huge deal in his business ventures.

I completed signing a contract of 4.2B deal yesterday, but the draw result took away all the joys. Still struggling with the disappointment.
