Aston Villa skipper Terry waiting until May to announce future plans

Aston Villa defender John Terry will not make a final decision on his career until the outcome of the club's Premier League promotion bid at the end of the season, according to the Telegraph.

The former Chelsea skipper 37, has the option to extend his deal by a further 12 months but will put his contract situation on hold as he attempts to help the Championship side to promotion.

Terry has made 21 league appearances so far this season, and captained Villa to a 2-0 home win over local rivals Birmingham on Sunday as they moved up to second in the table.
