Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey to start group training on Monday

Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to start training in small groups with his teammates on Monday ahead of the imminent league resumption.

According to reports in Spain, clubs in Spanish soccer's top two divisions will begin training in groups of up to 10 players following an order issued by the government's department for health on Saturday which modified guidelines for elite athletes.

Atletico Madrid have already started training after making its players took the coronavirus test on Wednesday with Partey testing negative for the virus.

All sporting activities in Sapin have been suspended since early March due to the pandemic.

They will move into the penultimate phase of the return to activity on Monday, while full training, phase four, will be allowed once regions enter the second phase of the national state of emergency.

Los Rojiblancos are currently 6th on the league table with 45 points after 27 matches thus far.

The Ghanaian midfielder has been one of the consistent performers for Atletico Madrid, making 31 appearances in all competitions thus far.
