Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann is set to miss Sunday's La Liga trip to Real Betis after suffering a hamstring injury in Tuesday's 1-1 Champions League draw at Chelsea.

Griezmann completed the 90 minutes at Stamford Bridge as the 2014 and 2016 Champions League finalists crashed out of the competition, finishing behind group winners Roma and second-placed Chelsea, and slipping down to the Europa League.

The France international underwent tests on returning to Madrid and his club confirmed the injury, which AS reported would keep him sidelined for about a week.

"Griezmann underwent some medical exams to understand the severity of the injury," a club statement read. "The reason for the exams were to understand what was causing the discomfort in Griezmann's right hamstring. Our diagnosis is pending evolution."

Antoine Griezmann sustained the injury against Chelsea.

Atletico go into the weekend in third place in La Liga, six points behind current leaders Barcelona and just one off second-placed Valencia.

Betis sit 10th in the table have recently faded after a good start to the season under new coach Quique Setien, which included a 1-0 win at Real Madrid.

AS has reported that Setien is under pressure after five games without a win in La Liga as well as a Copa del Rey exit to Segunda side Cadiz.
