Ghanaian international Christian Atsu has turned down a transfer deadline day move to Celtic after deciding to stay put at Newcastle United to fight for his place.

The winger has struggled for starting roles in the ongoing 2019/2020 season especially in the English Premier League. So far he has only managed to make 22 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies.

Scottish giant Celtic made a move for the attacker today to try and boost their attacking department in a bid to improve their chances of lifting the league title at the end of the season.

Atsu, 28, has however decided to stay at Newcastle United and has hence rejected the transfer away from England.

He is confident of his qualifies and has hence opted to train hard to convince manager Steve Bruce to win his place in the team.
