Augustine Ahinful advises Hearts of Oak to sign young and experineced players if they want to win trophies

Former Ghana international Augustine Ahinful has advised Hearts of Oak to sign both young and experienced players if they want to return to the glory days.

It's been 11 years since the Phobians won a trophy and this has been attributed to the lack of qualify signings and bad management.

Supporters are not happy with the club's current recruitment policy which has yielded no result over the years.

Hearts have already signed five players ahead of league resumption but according to Ahinful, coach Nii Odoom's side needs the blend of experience and youth to win laurels.

"I have heard Hearts of Oak dominating the headlines because of their player recruitment policy,” he told Asempa FM.

"I have read Nuru Sulley has returned to the club with the addition of Abednego Tetteh and a Nigerien striker. It is all good but you cannot do it without experienced players.

"For me, that is the important thing for the club to do. They should sign experienced players and blend them with the young players. Without that, I don’t think they can be anything meaningful.

"Europeans take time to develop players and you see the difference when they are playing. We should also learn from that and welcome experience players into our local league,” he added.
