Ghana international Thomas Partey is set to miss the Black Stars double header against Guinea and Mauritius after his club refused to release him due to their UEFA Champions League final encounter with Real Madrid.
The Black Stars are expected to take on their Guinean counterparts in an international friendly on May 28 in Paris before engaging Mauritius in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on June 5.
According to earlier reports, the 22-year-old was included in the yet to be released squad this week with latest report indicating that Atletico Madrid refused to allow him leave for the Stars’ match because they play their Champions League final same day the Black Stars takes on their Guinean counterparts.
This recent turn of things could force Coach Avram Grant to drop him from his squad for this weekend but will be available for the Black Stars in the Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius on June 5 should he be included in the squad
