Ghanaian international Baba Rahman has revealed that he was surprised to see his football career rise to the top when he casts his mind back to where he started from.

The Black Stars asset began his career with Young Meteors Tamale in 2004 at a time where it was difficult for a player to come out from his area.

Through hard work and determination, however, the left-back secured a move to Dreams FC and Kotoko subsequently before finally being transferred to German side Greuther Fürth.

Later he was signed by Augsburg where he managed to impress after showing his quality both in defense and in the attack.

In 2015, Baba Rahman was signed by English Premier League giant Chelsea and has since played for clubs such as Schalke 04 as well as Stade de Reims as a loan player.

Now on loan at RCD Mallorca, the Ghanaian says he was surprised by how he was able to rise to the top.

“It's amazing. I didn't think I would reach this level in my career. I grew up in northern Ghana and there you don't see many players reaching the top. I was surprised. I need to thank God and keep working hard, I think this is what has brought me here. In Tamale, my city, we have many soccer fields. I slept with a ball under my feet”, Baba said in a recent interview.
