Former Ghana defender, Samuel Inkoom beleives Baba Rahman was the Black Stars' best player against Central African Republic despite criticisms by Ghanaians.

The POAK left-back featured in Ghana's 2-1 win over CAR in the final Group E game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The 28-year-old substituted in the second half after sustaining an injury and despite his fine performance, he was booed by some section of the fans.

However, Inkoom speaking to Joy Sports labelled Rahman as the best player in the qualifier against CAR.

“We don’t have to go to the extent of playing individual players. We should not forget that he is young," the former FC Basel and Asante Kotoko defender said.

“This left-back has a big future. The game that we played in Kumasi, he was not bad. He was my best player, to be honest.”

Rahman has returned to his parent club due to the injury and will not feature in Ghana's international friendly game against Liberia.
