Lionel Messi scored twice after Luis Suarez had opened the scoring, with all the goals coming in eight first half minutes.

“It was the first half we'd dreamed of, taking the game to Sevilla," Luis Enrique said in a press conference ater the game.

“We were able to generate absolute control in their half, not just in terms of the goals, but speaking about the chances we generated as well.

“We recovered the ball quickly thanks to our pressing. It was one of our best first halves without doubt this season."

And he joked about the reaction of his players to his decision to step down: "They're so relieved that I'm leaving that they've started playing brilliantly!"
