Barcelona directors are split over a planned January move for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.

Having failed to sign Coutinho in August, Barca are preparing a new offer for Liverpool to consider when the market reopens in the New Year.

In Spain, it's suggested Coutinho has a guarantee from Reds boss Jurgen Klopp he will be allowed to leave if he fully commits to their Champions League group campaign.

The Brazilian has kept up his side of the bargain, so encouraging Barca to try again for the midfielder in January.

However, Sport says inside Barca there's now growing concern about moving for Coutinho midseason. The worry is his arrival could unsettle the locker room and affect their successful campaign thus far.

Instead, there is a growing opinion inside the boardroom it would be best Barca wait until next summer before trying again for Coutinho.
