Ghana and Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has described former Barcelona ace Andres Iniesta as his idol.

The 21-year-old revealed Iniesta was one of his biggest influences as a player and watches most of his games before going to the field to play a match.

Iniesta, who presently plays for Japanese side Vissel Kobe doesn’t do much talking outside of the Press Room in the Camp Nou but on the pitch, the pint-sized playmaker isn’t afraid to run at the meanest of defenses and more than capable to create havoc in the opponents half.

He scored the winner as Spain became World Champions in 2010.

“My favorite idol is Iniesta, he is someone I always watch before a game. I think I’m trying to see improvement. I try to learn a lot from him. I’m confident I will get there,” he told footballmadeinghana.com.

The Ghanaian youngster penned a long term deal with the Austrian club that will keep him at Red Bull until 2024.
