Keen to get away from the crowds and busy city life, Messi bought a property several years agoin the coastal town ofCastelldefels, which is a fashionable suburb half-an hour away from Barcelona.

He has since been joined there by a number of his club teammates, including Rakitic and Luis Suarez, but despite the idyllicsetting, the former has revealed that Messi had to buy his neighbour's' house after a dispute over noise.

The Croatian said (as quoted by The Sun):I have never been to Las Ramblas and Montjuïc, for example.

I did not have any problems with the neighbours, not like Messi in Castelldefels “ he had to buy his house from the neighbours because they were noisy and so he could be alone.

It is understood that Messi was offered the chance to buy the property next-door back in 2013, but refused the chance and with the recession hitting many home-owners hard, the people looking to sell chose to rent out bedrooms inside the house instead.

The new residents are said to have started the dispute between themselves and Messi's family and were accused of being 'loud, rude and nosy'.

The Barcelona forward initially attempted to deal with the matter by building a dividing wall between the two properties, however the structure failed to receive planning permission and following the threat of a lawsuit, Messi chose to end the dispute by simply agreeing tobuy the property.

Having acquired the building and subsequent land, the Argentine is now thought to own as much as two acres on the site and more importantly, has provided his young family with some much needed peace and quiet.
