Barcelona push Liverpool to accept cash-plus-player Coutinho deal

Barcelona are pushing Liverpool to accept a cash-plus-player deal for Philippe Coutinho.

El Mundo Deportivo says the Spanish giants are desperately seeking a new forward after Paris Saint-Germain activated Neymar's €222million release clause and took the Brazilian to the Parc des Princes.

Coutinho is Barcelona's first choice to replace Neymar but are finding it difficult to persuade Liverpool to sell.

Barcelona are now prepared to offer a player as well as money in exchange for Coutinho.

The man they are reported to be offering is Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes, who has failed to impress since his switch from Valencia in 2016.
