Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated that he wants his team to replicate their performance from the 5-1 victory over Arsenal in the second-leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

The Germans were inscintillatingform on Wednesday as they crushed the Gunners thanks to goals from Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski, Thiago Alcantara and substitute Thomas Muller.

The result from the first-leg appears to have all but sealed Bayern's passage into the quarter-finals, however the Bavarians' manager has demanded his players stay focused and insisted he wants a similar performance in the return leg in three weeks-time.

Ancelotti told reporters after the match (viaSky Sports): "The result was really important but we don't want to do a mistake.

"We have the advantage, we have to prepare for the next game in London taking into consideration this advantage.

"We have to play another game and we want to play again like we played tonight. The same intensity, the same spirit, the same concentration. We want to avoid problems."

Despite finishing the match as resounding winners, Bayern struggled to pull away from their opponents in the first half when Robben's opener was cancelled out by Alexis Sanchez.

When asked what he thought proved to be the difference in the second half and why his side were able to runaway with the match, Ancelotti suggested that his team's intensity proved to be too much for the Gunners.

"I think the game was tough in the first half because they equalised and they had opportunities to score the second goal." the Italian added.

"Arsenal is a dangerous team on the counter attack and we had problems so after that I think physically the second half we played with real intensity and physically we were really good.

"For this reason I think we had good control."
