Bayern Munich have been hit with a €52,000 fine after the club's fans set off fireworks during four away games earlier this season.

The German football federation (DFB) announced the penalty on Tuesday, and the Bundesliga champions accepted the sanction.

Bayern were punished for incidents at Hertha Berlin in October, November's trips to Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund and last month's game in Stuttgart, when travelling supporters lit flares and smoke bombs.

"There was severe smoke especially in Dortmund and Stuttgart," the DFB said in a statement.
