Bayern Munich's Douglas Costa Reveals Why He Celebrated His Match-Winning Goal With Arturo Vidal

Douglas Costa has admitted he was delighted to have scored the match winning goal inBayern Munich's 1-0 victory over Darmstadt 98 on Sunday and has revealed why he chose to celebrate his match-winning strike with teammate Arturo Vidal.


The Bavarians returned to the summit of the Bundesliga as they edged a tight game with lowly Darmstadtthanks to Costa's spectacular 71st minute strike.

Although the current German champions are level on points with surprise package RB Leipzig, Bayern will head into Wednesday's mouthwatering clash between the two teams top of the table,by virtue of vastly superior goal difference.


Having scored what proved to be the winner, Costa chose to head over to the bench and celebrate with teammate Arturo Vidal, who had been substituted just minutes before the Brazilian's goal.

Speaking after the match, Costa toldBundesliga.comthat he was delighted with the victory and revealed why he had made a beeline for Vidal.


The winger said: "Yes we have worked a lot in training to achieve this (the win).I am very happy for having hit the ball well and of course for winning the three points.


"Last year Vidal scored a similar goal in Berlin, so we were saying how similar the goal was."

With just one final round of fixtures to be played before the Christmas break, Bayern will be desperate to avoid defeat to Leipzig on Wednesday, as it means they will sit top of the Bundesliga over the festive period.
