Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has been named Polish Footballer of the Year, and for the sixth year running.

The 28-year-old has been one of the most deadly strikers in Europe these last few years, and was key to Borussia Dortmund winning two straight Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012 under now Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Since moving to Bayern in 2014, Lewandowski has kept up his fine form in front of goal. He has already scored 23 goals in 27 appearances for the German champions this season, coming off the back of a blistering campaign in which he recorded 42 strikes from 53 outings.

Lewandowski is currently Poland's second highest-ever scorer with 42 international goals in 85 appearances, only two goals shy of record holderWlodzimierz Lubanski's tally.

He has also been top scorer in the Bundesliga for the past two seasons, and could finish this season with the honour yet again, although surpassing Dortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will take some doing.
